NORTHBROOK - Red Seal Homes received an honorable mention by the Better Business Bureau of Chicago and Northern Illinois for the Marketplace Ethics Torch Award for 2005.
The company was selected by a panel of judges from a field of more than 600 companies in northern Illinois. Nominees were separated into four categories based on company size, with Red Seal in Category IV, for companies between 10 and 99 employees.
Red Seal was the only company selected to receive honorable mention in this category and was specifically mentioned as being a 'beacon of light in the ethics field.'
"Receiving an Honorable Mention for the Torch Award For Marketplace Ethics is a supreme honor for Red Seal and we are very proud to be recognized in this manner by an organization that promotes sound business practices," company chairman David Hoffman said.
"Of all the awards Red Seal has won during our 71 years in business, this Torch Award stands as one of the most important to our company, because it underscores our philosophy of doing business in an ethical manner, with integrity in everything we do and respect for our customers."
Red Seal was presented with award at a recent lunch in Chicago.
The Better Business Bureau's mission is to promote and foster the highest ethical relationship between businesses and the public through voluntary self-regulation, consumer and business education and service excellence.
